Swing Into the Centennial Auction - A Success

On Saturday, Feb. 27, parents, faculty and staff gathered at Grace Farms in New Canaan for the Swing into the Centennial Auction, an elegant black-tie affair which paid tribute to our 100th anniversary. Alumni Award Presentation - Dr. David Forney ’54

Alumna Gives $2 Million to Country School

New Canaan Country School has received a $2 million gift toward a new Dining Room and community gathering space. This gift was made by alumna Susan Haigh Carver, Class of 1951 and her husband John Carver.more

New Canaan Country School Kicks Off Centennial Year

The school kicked off the celebrations with an assembly which included all 750 students, faculty and staff participating. They performed skits, songs and creative presentations each honoring the school’s 100-year history. Students and faculty reflected upon how they personally, or collectively as a school, have been impacted by past generations.more

100 Years – 100 Objects Archival Exhibit Has Opened

As New Canaan Country School enters its 100th year, 100 Years – 100 Objects, an archival exhibit, will highlight one-hundred of the school’s most interesting objects. The exhibit will build, in groups of twenty, over the course of this centennial year and will be pulled together from the archives’ vast collection, and also from the classrooms, closets and basements of teachers, parents and alumni. The exhibit, which was curated by Country School Archivist Mark Macrides, Ann Conrad Stewart ’78; P’06, ’08, ’14 and Elizabeth Kontulis P’04, ’07, ’12, ’18, opened in September and currently features forty significant objects, however when fully revealed, the display will host an object from each year of Country School’s 100-year history. Individually, each object represents a snapshot of the life of the school; collectively, they represent the heart of the school’s mission to inspire “…students to be lifelong learners with the courage and confidence to make a positive contribution to the world.” The exhibit begins in the Grace House reception area and is open during school hours, we welcome you to stop in and see it as it builds!...more
